Operating Room 2 of Farabi Hospital
Welcome, dear patients. We, the staff of the cornea operating room at Farabi Hospital, strive to provide the best healthcare services in the field of eye surgery, alongside our ophthalmology specialists. We offer surgeries such as cataract, corneal transplant, pterygium, and other corneal surgeries in the shortest possible time with maximum patient satisfaction. This operating room consists of 6 rooms and 10 surgical beds. The staff in Operating Room 2 wear light blue or light green scrubs, and the walls of the operating room are green.
Important Notes for Patients:
 * Please read the patient's bill of rights and patient education poster in the waiting room.
 * The emergency exit is located inside the storage room and is marked with a sign.
 * After the operating room entrance, there is a wide red line on the floor where you should remove your shoes and put on the operating room slippers. Your companion may accompany you only up to this line.

Pre-Operative Preparation:
 * Shower the night before surgery and avoid using perfume. Do not wear makeup.
 * Your waiting time may vary from three to five hours depending on the type of surgery. Please remain calm and cooperate fully with the operating room staff.
 * Surgical procedures with local anesthesia are performed by instilling anesthetic drops in the eye. Please do not move your head during surgery.
 * For insured patients, lenses, gel, and other surgical supplies are subject to insurance co-payment and are provided based on the health plan.
 * Under no circumstances should you exchange your surgical items with other patients. Please take care of your file, lens, and gel.
 * If you have dentures, gold, jewelry, hair ties, or clothing other than underwear, as well as prosthetic limbs such as prosthetic legs and artificial eyes, please hand them over to the operating room reception. If you have a hearing aid, please keep it in your ear with the coordination of the reception.
 * If you have a pacemaker, cardiac stent, or fistula in your hand, please inform the reception.
 * If you have a specific disease such as seizures, diabetes, high blood pressure, or heart disease, please inform the reception.
 * Be sure to check your identification bracelet to ensure it matches your name.
 * Patients who have difficulty walking will be moved with a wheelchair.
 * Due to the thinness of the slippers and the possibility of slipping in the operating room, be sure to go to the operating room with the reception staff or surgeon.
 * If you use narcotics, be sure to inform us of the type and amount of use.
 * If you experience a headache, dizziness, blurred vision, or nausea while waiting, do not get up from your seat. Call the reception loudly.
 * If you need a specific position after surgery, be sure to pay attention to the given position and the required time to get a better result from the surgery.
 * In case of general anesthesia, you may experience a burning or sore throat for three days to a week. You should avoid eating hot, spicy, and hard foods and drink cool liquids.
 * If you have cold sores, a cold, or abnormal eye discharge, please inform the reception.
 * If you have vital medications such as heart medications, blood pressure control medications, seizure medications, thyroid medications, etc., take them as usual on the day of surgery.
 * If your surgeon has prescribed any medication before surgery, please obtain it and bring it with you on the day of surgery.
 * If you are allergic to any medication or eggs, please inform the reception.
 * If you experience a headache, dizziness, blurred vision, or nausea while waiting, do not get up from your seat. Just call the reception loudly.
 * If you feel itching, burning, tearing, or discharge in your eye, please inform the reception.
 * Be sure to fast for 8 hours before surgery. Otherwise, inform the operating room reception.
 * If you have dialysis, consult your doctor about the timing of dialysis before and after surgery.
 * A companion should be present in the operating room waiting room on the day of surgery to be available if needed. Also, for patients under the age of 18 or patients with mental problems, the legal guardian must be present on the day of surgery to give consent for the surgery.

Important Notes After Surgery:
 * Do not touch your dressing or IV after surgery.
 * The surgical wound needs nutrients such as protein and vitamin for healing. It is best to follow a high-protein and vitamin C-rich diet after surgery.
 * If patients have a pathology sample from the eye in the operating room, it will be sent to the laboratory.
 * Consult your doctor about showering and resting after surgery.
 * If you have any problems or questions, please contact the operating room nurse.
