Farabi Eye Hospital, with its team of top ophthalmologists, experienced medical staff, and state-of-the-art operating room equipment, welcomes a large number of patients from both Iran and abroad who require eye surgery each year.
In 1934, the Ophthalmology Department of Farabi Hospital, consisting of 2 clinics, 1 operating room, and 25 beds, was established by Professor Mohammad Gholi Shams. The first corneal transplant in Iran was performed by him in the same year.
