Glaucoma Clinic at Farabi Hospital
We are honored that you have chosen Farabi Hospital for your treatment. The Glaucoma Clinic is located on the east side of the ground floor of the hospital, adjacent to the Retinal Consultation Clinic, and consists of two rooms, number 8 and 9.
Supervisor: Mahdi Gholivand
Clinic Hours: Clinics (8 and 9) are open from 7:30 AM to 2:00 PM and 2:00 PM to closing time, Monday through Wednesday.
Please note that examination times can be lengthy and may take several hours. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
Patients attending this clinic fall into two categories:
* Glaucoma patients
* Special service patients (cataracts)
These patients can schedule appointments through the hospital website at tums.drmyco.net/ or by calling 00982155423070.
To schedule your first appointment for glaucoma examination:
* Referred patients from other clinics (go to Clinic 8 and schedule an appointment for examination in the Glaucoma Clinic based on whether the patient is urgent or non-urgent) based on intraocular pressure and other findings of the initial examination. Patients who are referred to this clinic from other clinics for consultation and examination should bring their blue treatment card to the clinic receptionist to schedule an appointment. (Please note that the stamp and signature of the referring physician and the attending physician of the clinic are required on the back of the treatment card.) The examination date will be recorded on the examination card and in the appointment book.
* Patients sent from Central Admissions
Admission of Glaucoma Patients:
* First-time patients: Referred patients from other clinics or Central Admissions with their appointment slips go to Room 6.
* Follow-up patients: Glaucoma patients who have a file in Room 6 and have received a green card.
* First-time patients must go to Room 6 located in the main corridor (with their ID card) and receive a card 50 and an appointment.
* Follow-up patients go to Room 6 with their green card and receive a file and an appointment.
(If you do not have a health insurance booklet, all costs will be charged as out-of-pocket.)
* Patients sent from Central Admissions receive a card 50.
* Patients receive appointment numbers from Room 6.
* Patients go to Room 8 or 9 according to the numbers given and are admitted by the receptionist.
Workflow:
Upon entering the clinic, the patient is sent to the optometry section by the receptionist (adult patients do not require an escort to enter the clinic, and one escort is sufficient for pediatric patients, preferably the mother).
* If you wear glasses, please bring them with you for vision testing and examination.
* After vision testing, the patient is referred by the nurse to a resident ophthalmologist and then to an attending physician or fellowship if necessary.
* After examination by the attending physician or fellowship, if necessary, the patient is referred to the clinic nurse to have drops instilled for further examination.
* Some time after the drops are instilled, the patient is re-examined, and a decision is made by the attending physician. Please note that the drops instilled in the eye may cause blurred vision for 5 to 6 hours, so it is advisable to avoid driving during this time.
* After completing all examination procedures, if surgery is necessary, a surgery date will be given.
* If the patient requires laser treatment, the type of laser will determine whether Mydriasis eye drops (capsulotomy) or pilocarpine (PI laser) are instilled. The patient accompanies the doctor to the laser room (basement) to issue a bill with card 50, the insurance booklet, and a request. Laser is performed in the Glaucoma Clinic.
* If pachymetry and corneal thickness (CCT) are required to complete the eye examination, go to Room 6 first to receive a receipt and then go to Room 9 to have it done.
* If a photograph (RNFL OCT), perimetry, etc. is prescribed to complete the eye examination, after the test is performed, the attending physician will go to Room 6 to receive an appointment for the photograph.
